Hey guys,I know, I know – it’s been long again since my last post. But to excuse myself – I had to spend all the free time I had with my close friends and family before leaving them all behind for 5 months. But that is not our topic today! I want to think back to the second week of July and share my trip to Croatia with you. My best friend’s family and mine finally managed to book a trip together and we decided for a beach holiday in Croatia – we went to the Crvena Luka Hotel & Resort to be exact. But before arriving there we stopped at the Plitvice waterfalls to do some hiking. Our dads drove the whole night so we could reach the national park in the morning and when we arrived we had a good picnic before entering. So far so good. We then decided to take a little boat tour on the lake, when the rain suddenly started to rain cats and dogs. Right then we thought our whole trip was spoiled, we were completely wet and frozen but after a cup of hot chocolate and some patience the sky lightened up and we were able to start our walk up – and oh, it was so amazing! The many little waterfalls, the bridges on the lakes and tight ways through the woods – I totally loved it!After an adventurous day in Plitvice we continued our trip and reached Biograd na Moru after an hour, the sun was already burning hot by that time and after checking in we immediately hit the beach. At this point I need to tell you what good choice this hotel has been! My family, my best friend and I shared an apartment and we really got to relax a lot and had so much fun together! The resort offered all we had asked for – good food (we had breakfast and dinner included), a quiet private beach in a hidden bay, where the whole complex is located, some activities throughout the day (like Zumba classes in the water) and – best of all – an infinity pool! The first two nights after dinner we had long walks through the whole complex to see what other things it has to offer and we always ended up at the beach watching the sunset and talking. The other nights we either played games with our parents or just relaxed somewhere. One night we wanted to feel more special so we all decided to dress up – and we girls all had white/rosé dresses with us - without even planning it! It was so much fun running around the complex with my dad following us with the camera – he really put a lot of effort into all those pictures and getting good shots of us!After 5 days of tanning – which felt more like being grilled in the heat – our sunburnt skin told us to stop lying in the sun and do some sightseeing instead so on the way back to Austria we stopped in Zagreb for the day. I was positively surprised by what we saw there, since I hadn’t expected anything of the city. It might not be a city I would visit over and over again, but for a one-day trip I totally recommend it! We walked the Strossmayer Promenade uphill and reached a spot with a good view over the city. We mostly stayed in this old part of the city and then walked to the city center were we had a late lunch on the main plaza in a very modern restaurant with tablets as menus!Since I liked my trip to Croatia so much,
