Surprise, Surprise: I made it to Barcelona again this year. But as the title already indicates, this time was more about eating out (especially for brunch) rather than sight-seeing. We rented an apartment at Lugaris Beach for a week and us girls spoiled ourselves at good restaurants while the guys spent time relaxing. Also, we went shopping a lot, walked around the whole city and spent some time tanning at the Mar Bella Beach. We took a flight early on Wednesday morning (hence my tired face) and strolled around the city until our apartment was ready. Since we were located quite far away from the Ramblas and Plaza de Catalunya, where we spent most of our time, we got to walk a lot during our trip. But hey, after eating that much we had to somehow lose our calories. Now here's a list of the places we visited, activities we did, outfits we wore and food we ate.ActivitiesViewing Barcelona from high upSince one of my friends has relatives in Barcelona, we decided to spend an afternoon with them and since they had a car, they took us to the Tibidabo Amusement Park and Viewpoint, which would have been hard to reach without driving there. Also, we enjoyed the view from high up on the Las Arenas Shopping Center, where they have quite some nice restaurants. Riding E-bikes at Barceloneta BeachOne afternoon, all 7 of us rented E-bikes from Rent Electric and had the best time driving around the beach, racing each other and just enjoying the wind blow through our hair.Visiting Park GüellLike the other times I visited Barcelona, I wanted to go to Park Güell for a walk as it is one of my favorite spots in this city - offering a great view, nice landscape and Gaudí's beautiful architecture!Shopping & StrollingThis is, after the food section, the longest part of this blog post. We really did walk a lot through the city - but managed to find the cutest side streets and best shops!Food & DrinksLuluThe Lulu Café - Bistro - Bar is No.1 on my list, as we had the best brunch there! It is a cute little spot close to Park de la Ciutadella and it offers the yummiest smoothie bowls ever! Although they did not have granola left when we went there, they did their best to make their bowls as tasty as possible even without it! Our waitress was so sweet and we really felt comfortable there!Surf HouseThe Surf House, located right on Barceloneta Beach, offers such good food that we actually went there three times! Two times I decided for their Grilled Chick Burger and the Beach Nachitos and once I ordered their Acai Bowl, which was the best I've ever had - and tbh the first one I ever tried :P Also, they have really good Sangría there (which, if you remember from my last post, is the red wine bowl that is typical in Spain).Flax & KaleOne of the healthier places we went to was Flax & Kale, which is a flexitarian restaurant serving organic, vegan and vegetarian food. Although I'm a meat-lover and I don't think I could ever become a vegetarian (no judging please, that's just how I am), I really enjoyed the food there and the way I felt after! They are pretty famous for their grilled watermelon-and-goat-cheese combination, which was really interesting! Also, they have a wide range of smoothies and serve really good ice-cream! However, next time I'm there I will come after 1pm because their outdoor patio doesn't open before that :(La Boquería MarketAs always, I stopped at La Boquería quite a few times during my stay to buy myself fresh smoothies or get some sweets as gifts for my parents.L'Alianca del Poble Nou

Gino'sSo we came to Spain and went to an Italian restaurant? I goes that's the wrong way to do it... But Gino's is a pretty good chain in Spain and the one at Maremagnum has a really pretty view. I wouldn't go there again, since it was a bit overpriced for what it offered, but it was good nonetheless.EclipseFor our last night, Bia and I went to Eclipse, the rooftop bar of the W hotel, for a few drinks and girls talks. We both loved the fancy looks of this place, the way the waiters treated us and the drinks they made. When they had to take every table away to make space for more people coming in, they gave us free pralines as an apology!!Of course we went to more restaurants and saw some other things too, |
