Howdy, y'all! My cousin and I arrived in Arizona a few days ago, hence the uncommon greeting! We booked our 2-week trip to America's West Coast long ago, but we didn't really get to planning it all out, which is very unusual for me since I normally like to think about every little detail. This time though I let my relatives from Arizona do the planning and it has been amazing so far! I am not going to bother you with details of our flight, where we had to spend 5 hours at the airport in London and sat next to two crying kids during the 12-hour long flight to the US - so let's get right to the fun stuff:- ASU Campus: Since I will do my exchange semester at Arizona State University quite soon I decided to visit the campus beforehand and see whether I like it or not - and it turned out to be even better than I could have imagined: the Tempe campus was huge, the dorm rooms seemed inviting and there were so many people riding a bike and skateboarding on campus! Also, the fitness center is so big, even my 5-year-old cousin knows she would want to come to ASU just for that :))After hours of walking in the sun we decided it was time for lunch - and were taken to Can't Stop Smokin' BBQ where we filled our stomachs in the best possible way! - White Tanks Riding Stables: Our second day started off with horseback-riding in the "wilderness" and together with our guide Josh and my lovely horse Moon I can say I really had a great time! Besides listening to funny stories we learned a lot about the nature surrounding us - such as how the White Tanks got their name and the names of different cactuses (there is the teddy bear cactus that looks pretty soft, the mistletoe that doesn't look like a cactus at all, and so on...). Afterwards we had dinner at an all-you-can-eat seafood buffet where we tried out a lot of good new stuff! Although we were pretty tired, we wanted to spend more time outside so we decided to go see the sunset at the little hill next to Christ's Church of the Valley. Now we're in California for a week so you
