What better way to start your summer vacation after a stressful semester than with your girls in a picturesque little town? Me and my good friend Lena visited our friend Kathi in Altaussee in Styria where she has been working for the past few months in order to finally catch up after a long time! This town, also known as a "climatic spa", is the perfect destination to disconnect from reality - with long walks surrounded by mountains, swimming in the beautiful lake, breathing in the fresh air and - of course - eating in an amazing traditional restaurant, known as Postillion's Einkehr. To be honest, I did not plan to take pictures of myself at this place so I dressed in a really cozy casual dress and for once I did not ask my friend to take pictures of me but she offered it herself - so why not use the opportunity?!On Saturday, after we had our own picnic at the lake and tanned for a while, the sky got dark and it started to rain so we decided to visit Salzburg, which was only one hour away. I have already been in this beautiful city this year but it is a place worth visiting more than once in a lifetime. Without knowing we even chose the perfect day for a visit as there was the Linzergassenfest in the Old Town going on. This is a street festival with many shows, dancing classes and drinking booths. Even though it was rainy, the city did not lose its charm to us and we got to see a lot - and had good food. We enjoyed a great and affordable lunch at the well-known Sternbräu Restaurant. Later on, after walking to a platform to get a better view of the city and stopping by at a marketplace, we were frozen and soaked enough to need some rest at a café, The Coffee House Salzburg. This is a rustical place where you immediately feel like being home, sitting in comfortable couches surrounded by walls of books that you can just take and read, which is exactly what I did. Right in front of the café we saw people dancing to live music from the Linzergassenfest and the atmosphere was truly magical! To end this trip the right way, Lena and I spent our Sunday at the Bad Waltersdorf Spa, which she had planned as my birthday present - and it was the best present one could give me: to spend time together in a relaxing place like this. After walking around the city so much the day before, it was good to just relax a whole day and be able to start reading a new book. Also, we had a really good lunch at the spa's restaurant and I felt more than spoiled ♥
